Never, Ever Give Up.

This is an inspiring video, which has to do with encouraging others, believing in yourself, not giving up, and also not letting physical disabilities hold you back.

If that didn't sell you, the trainer involved is a former pro wrestler.

Now you're going to watch.

Have an awesome day!

Stuff Intramural Athletes Say

This is a funny video from the Michigan IM Staff. It's a parody of other similar videos, and also a parody of IM Participants.

Indeed, anyone who has worked in Intramurals has heard a ton of these comments. Spinning a positive light on it for staff training, you could also use it to show that sometimes you get some pretty dumb questions, but that the person asking that dumb question may not know that you've been asked the same question 10 times already that day, so you still need to answer politely.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into a funny video!

Have a great day!

Pep Talk From Kid President

This is a great one that I saw this morning, courtesy of Paul Wesselmann, the Ripples Guy. It's a good motivator, and obviously fits on this blog, because it is AWESOME! Have a great day!

The Lost Generation

I love this video. I think it's important for college students to watch, because sometimes their generation is frowned upon by their elders, by their bosses (us), by anyone who just assumes that they are a 'lost generation'. It shows them that they are NOT a lost generation, and does so in a very creative way. ENJOY!

Every Life Has A Story

This is a video done by Chick Fil A (we can keep any thoughts about them away from here though and just enjoy the video). It is a good one to show to get staff to realize that you don't know what people are going through, and to me, encourages patience and understanding. We have used it in two different trainings at Rowan. One was with our Rec staff at the start of a semester, and helped deliver the message of treating everyone the same, even the cranky people and 'problem participants', because you don't know what they are dealing with. We also used it with our summer camp staff, because the same message as above is especially true when dealing with our campers, and to realize they could be coming in with their own baggage on a camp day, so it's extra important for us to leave ours at the door, and to focus on the real reason we are there. ENJOY!

Before I Die

This video is from the 'Ted Talks', and is a good one to share with staff as an icebreaker to challenge them to think about what it is they want to accomplish, what goals do they want to set in a new year or new semester, or even possibly a good idea to hang a banner in your facility for New Years (or new semester) resolutions, fitness goals, etc... Have an awesome day!

WELCOME!

To help us keep staff on their toes
And we always share ideas
This is just a new way to see those.

So thank you for reading
And I hope you enjoy this
I hope you're not thinking
This guy's poem annoyed us.

In addition the blog
